Intern Marketing Assistant – London

This is a great opportunity for a full-time Intern Marketing Assistant to join Waterfront Conference Company, a rapidly growing London-based conference company specializing in conferences, events and training for the transport, planning, ports and education sectors.

Based at our office in Farringdon, the Marketing Assistant will provide support to the function, helping to market and deliver conferences, including attending events within the UK.

This is a busy, varied and challenging role which provides an opportunity to get involved with multi-channel marketing campaigns, including exposure to social media marketing.  The ideal candidate will be a top graduate looking to start a long term career in events, marketing or PR. 

The role requires exceptional organisational skills and time management skills.  Candidates need to be prepared to demonstrate this through projects they will undertake in the interview process. As well as marketing, the role will provide the opportunity to learn about event delivery, team work, and project management. 

The Marketing Assistant sits in a team of 8, in a fast-paced environment.  Key requirements for the job include excellent communication skills, superb attention to detail, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and initiative.  Good IT skills are essential.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building email marketing campaigns
  • Helping to manage our 5 Twitter accounts and 5 LinkedIn groups
  • Sourcing and negotiating with endorsers and creating marketing materials for their use
  • Updating and maintaining the company website
  • Liaising with speakers, sponsors and venues to help increase marketing reach
  • Helping to source and produce high-quality content to support marketing campaigns, liaising with in-house design team where appropriate
  • Maintaining and helping to build the conference database
  • Preparing for events and helping to run them on the day
  • Providing admin support to the conference team
  • Contributing creative ideas in team meetings
