YEDL - Responding to community and political concern

After extensive power cuts in the seaside town of Bridlington,  and a complaint by a local MP in the House of Commons, Yorkshire Electricity Distribution Limited responded by embarking on a major programme of improvement works.

Freshwater was called in as, inevitably, the previous problems had led to a level of negative feelings towards the company, and YEDL was keen to improve local perceptions and gain community confidence in their ability to solve the issue.

We introduced a structured community communications programme which was the major factor in turning around a negative situation and helping to develop an appreciation of YEDL as a responsible and caring, community-focused business.
