Freshwater was employed by Turnberry, a Luxury Collection Resort in Scotland, and venue for the Open Championships in 2009, with a specific brief to increase awareness of the resort within the leisure and business markets and to drive footfall to the destination.

Our strategy combined a press trip for print, online and broadcast media to promote the launch of the Bluffer’s Guide to Golf, and a proactive media relations initiative with a list of bespoke consumer and trade travel publications, as well as key golf titles.

Attendance on the press trip included The Sunday Times Ecosse, STV’s Five Thirty Show, I-ON Edinburgh, Tiscali online and the Scotsman.  In addition extensive coverage was achieved across all platforms including print and online.
