Barry Waterfront Consortium

Barry Waterfront Consortium was seeking to gain planning permission for the development of 2,000 homes and a new waterside district quarter in a bid to regenerate a key site in Barry, South Wales. It engaged Freshwater to manage the consultation with the local community.

More than 750 people attended the public events with 250 people completing feedback questionnaires.  As a direct result of issues raised, amendments were made to the planning applications and the Consortium was able to demonstrate to the local authority that it had carried out a robust and inclusive consultation exercise that went far beyond statutory responsibilities.
