NHS West Kent

Freshwater was challenged to develop and implement an effective strategy to encourage members of the public to join NHS West Kent’s ground-breaking public engagement project, the Health Network, and share their views on local health issues.

We set about developing the brand and then promoting it through a combination of direct marketing and stakeholder engagement activities such as a ‘chat to us on the sofa’ day at Bluewater Shopping Centre.

Results saw membership of the network triple and the campaign achieving widespread media coverage, including filming by BBC South East, blanket local radio and print coverage and double page features in the specialist press.  The campaign also helped NHS West Kent staff to promote the benefits of the health network to all of its key audiences, from shoppers at Bluewater to its own clinical staff and local councillors.
